About Spicy Moon East Village

Let me introduce you to Spicy Moon East Village, a bold, plant-powered spot tucked right into the neighborhood at 328 E 6th St, New York, NY 10003, United States, where vegan food stops feeling like a compromise and starts feeling like a crave. From the moment you walk in, the energy is relaxed and lively, the kind of place that works just as well for a casual solo bite as it does for a loud catch-up with friends. The menu leans fully vegan, but the flavors are confident and unapologetic, pulling inspiration from comforting classics while keeping things fresh and modern. I like how it balances comfort food with lighter, healthier options, so whether you’re in the mood for small plates to share, a quick bite between plans, or a more settled dine-in meal, it fits the moment without trying too hard. Drinks are part of the fun here too, with a thoughtful selection of beer, wine, cocktails, and alcohol options that pair easily with the food and keep the vibe social. Spicy Moon East Village also understands how people actually eat in the city, offering kerbside pickup, no-contact delivery, standard delivery, takeaway, and on-site services that make it easy to enjoy the food wherever you are. Late-night food options make it especially appealing when the evening stretches on and you’re craving something satisfying but still plant-based. What really stands out to me is how welcoming it feels to both dedicated vegans and curious newcomers, with vegan and vegetarian options presented in a way that feels inclusive rather than preachy. It’s the kind of restaurant you recommend confidently because it’s consistent, flavorful, and easy to love, all while staying true to its vegan roots and East Village attitude. I often describe it as a go-to spot when you want flavor first, values second, and zero fuss, which is exactly why it keeps drawing a steady mix of locals, students, and visitors passing through the East Village.

Amazing vegan Chinese! Extensive menu, flavourful and big portions. Brussels sprouts side was 10/10 (even for someone who doesn’t like brussels sprouts) friendly service and accommodating for extras or swaps

If you're looking for a place that truly delivers flavor, service, and atmosphere, look no further. Every dish was bursting with taste — the kind of flavors that make you pause mid-bite just to appreciate what’s happening. The staff was incredibly attentive and genuinely friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The vibes were perfect: warm, energetic, and inviting without ever feeling overwhelming. This is the kind of spot that doesn’t just serve food — it creates an experience. Highly recommend!

We Love Spicy Moon! The East Village location staff were super friendly and the food was great. The wontons in chili oil were our favorite this time, but literally every plate we had was good - you can’t go wrong. All vegan but this is a place that omnivores and everyone will love! This location is a bit small (compared to Bowery location), but still nice vibes. Prices are great as well - this will always be in our regular rotation

One of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Everyone we have gone the food has been incredible. We try something new each time and there has never been a disappointing choice! But the king pao style is definitely a reoccurring choice. The service is always so friendly and ready to make recommendations. We love to bring our friends here to spread the word of this amazing place

Spicy Moon in the East Village is my absolute favorite. The vibe is chill, and the vegan Chinese food is incredible. I was blown away by the authentic spice and deep flavors. It proves plant-based can be seriously delicious. I'm already craving their Vegan Buffalo Chicken Wings.

This is another MUST stop when I’m in New York. This is actually some of the best food I have ever had, it never disappoints. The King Pao and General Tso “chicken” are my go tos but throw in some lo mein and appetizers and you’re in heaven! The portions are huge and great for sharing. HIGHLY recommend reservations, the place is small and gets very busy!

Delicious plant based food !! Great attention to detail with packaging , but it’s a shame I had no cutlery to eat as I was in a hotel that had no room service and no cutlery was provided by spicy moon so spicy hands it was . But taste wise the food was amazing .

This place is so good — I’m loving the vibe! The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Dan Dan noodles with vegan beef (and yes, the name is Spicy Moon, so brace yourself for a little heat — in the best way). I paired it with their crisp Dragon Lager, but you can also go for the complimentary water they provide. They have two charming outdoor seating areas, which are perfect for enjoying gorgeous East Village weather. But honestly, the interior is so warm and inviting, you might want to eat inside just to soak up the decor. The service was top-notch — the young gentleman who helped me was attentive, on point, and incredibly accommodating. If you’re in the Lower East Side (or anywhere nearby) and craving flavorful vegan Chinese–Thai–Asian fusion that’s actually good for you, Spicy Moon is a must-visit.
